My Son Stewart has retuned home safe!

Stewart and my wonderful DIL Belinda, homecoming, priceless!
This is Stewart with Brandon (3) Later that day when we were eating dinner Brandon said to me "my daddy has stole my mommy". They left the kids with me so that they could spend some time together. The things KIDS say.
This is Stewart giving Samantha (6) a big hug.
I just want to share on of the best days I have had this year, I know that we all have days that are just out of this world, and March 6th is one for me as my eldest son Stewart came home from Afghanistan. A heavy weight has been lifted now that he is home. Words cannot describe the over whelming feeling of JOY. Hope you don’t mind me sharing this will all of you on my Stamping Blog. This is why I have not posted for a while I’ve been getting ready for this day. Now that is all done its back to stamping. I’ve got some pictures to take and get posted. I did get some project finished and now need to share them with you.

Stewart was part of the Kentucky Army National Guard's "Alpha Battery," 2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery who came home at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Kentucky on March 6, 2008. They mobilized on October 12, 2006 to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Upon their arrival they began conduction full-spectrum Military Police operations and Afghan National Police training for Task Force 2 Fury, Task Force 3 Fury and Task Force White Eagle (Polish Battle Group). During their time they unit conducted over 500 combat missions; partnering with local security and police forces to develop regional stabilization for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. During the course of operations, the unit sustained a total of 9 occurrences of Soldiers being wounded in action from improvised explosive devices and indirect fire. Battery A also lost a great American and patriot, Staff Sgt. Nicholas (Nick) Carnes during a small arms engagement on August 26, 2007. For action in combat and direct support thereof, Soldiers assigned to Battery A 2/138th FA were awarded many metals. The unit was also submitted for a Meritorious Unit Citation for action in support of Combined Joint Task Force-82 (HQs, 82nd Airborne Division).

Belinda is off the the left holding the camera in the back, close to Bill one of Stewart's friends that was injured in Iraq is standing with the cane, it was great to see him again and very touching for him to drive hours just to see them come home safe.

Ann~

Wow! It took me a while to read it all because I kept having to wipe tears from my eyes. I'm so glad your son arrived home safely. While I didn't know to pray for him by name, he and all the other soldiers serving our country are prayed for daily. Thank you so much for the sacrifice your family had to make. I can't even imagine.

A fellow stamper~

I am so happy for the safe return of your soldier from Afghanistan. My soldier is currently serving in Afghanistan with the 173rd Airborne so I know what you have been going through during his deployment. Please thank your soldier on my behalf for his service to his country. Gos bless them all.
