#2 Convention SWAP!

Today was one big STAMPIN day. I need to get swaps done before Convention and I only have 5 more days until I depart for Denver. I’m way behind this year with only 30 complete I’m a long way off my 150 mark. In addition I need 5 gifts for my friends that I’m traveling with the pressure is on. I do have all the ideas floating in my head I just have to get INK to PAPER and make it happen. That is exactly what I set out to do today, kids we are not going anywhere it’s a stay at home day. They were not to disappointed it is very humid outside so they got to stay in.

What did I create today this wonderful card after getting the prototype done I was off and running. Making one was simple duplicating it 50 more times was very time consuming. What was I thinking at 7 a.m. this morning? I wasn’t ……. :) I did finish after cutting, punching, tying ribbon, paper piercing and putting them all together after 5 hours I was done. Now you can tell me what you think was it all worth it?

Thank you for stopping in!

My Exciting Weekend

Sorry no new post for a couple of days it has been a very busy weekend. I had my Crafter’s Garage Sale on Saturday, sold some stamps and accessories met a few new stampers all in all a good day. On Sunday it was off to The Support Our Troops BB Riverboat Cruise. We had all met on Thursday night to put together and arranged most of the donations we received. That made it easy to get all set up and ready for the 551 awesome passangers that came out to join us. My husband and I sold raffle tickets along with a few others I think we had about 85 different items to raffle off. We also had an All Exclusive Trip to Cancun that could not be raffled of for money. So each paying passenger was given a Blue & White ticket when they boarded the boat. My Daughter-In-Law WON the trip. I think I was more excited than her. I was lucky too, I won a framed picture that I wanted for my bed room. My kids won a basket full with a little bit of everything, with the main item being a Webkiz, that made for a very tense evening of who gets it. All has been resolved and everyone happy.

I get to catch my breath today I think, I’m planning to take the kid over to one of my good friends to swim. I will be helping her get some work done around the house. I will not get INK to PAPER until late tonight or tomorrow. I think I should dig out some old stuff to post for days like today. I’ll work on that it will sure help me get some of that old stuff organized.

I cannot believe it is only 9 days until I leave for Convention. I’ve signed up for the SUDSOL lunch, gift exchange and swap and I only have 30 cards done so far. In addition I would like to take about 100 or so to swap with other demonstrators. I will also be exchanging gifts with my stamping friends that I’m going with. I’m going to have to do some serious stamping this week.

Zoofari

Deep breath, I did not get off to a speedy start today. But, got some stamping time late last night and finished them up this morning. Only 3 more days of Robert going to his special Summer School then I’ll have more time. That’s what I keep telling myself. I’m sure they will find something to fill in that time for me.

Late yesterday I decided to play with Zoofari, these little animals are so so cute. I purchased the Watercolor Wonder Crayons along with Watercolor Paper last year and you guessed it, never used them once. I’m going to learn how to water color. I did run across a Tutorial on it, now I just have to dig and find it.

Last night was trial and error. You can see on the next few cards. (can't beleive I'm posting them) Not my best work, I’m getting better controlling the water and the amount of crayon color is the trick. I will only get better the more I water color, practice, practice “just do it”. I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot more of it using this set.

Pool Little Zebra

As the night went on trial and error, I did get better check out the little Zebra. Not to take the focus off my Water Coloring Talent. Check out the PAPER CLIP! My very best Stamping friend Audrey found them at Wal-Mart. It’s a pack of four different colors matching our Stampin’ Up! Colors, Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow. They are The Loft Collection in the office supplies. Hey! I have just given out my first go and find it tip. I feel good even if I did not find them myself. Sharing is what it’s all about. Thank you for looking……

Clip Board and Card Tin

Now to something totally different I made this early in the summer. This was my Daughters, a place for her to keep important things organized and to get her started on sending out cards to all her friends. I used the perpetual calendar print outs that Beate over at SCS has on her Card Organizer. Here is the link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/calendar%20organizer%20months.pdf
And put them on the front of the monthly dividers inside the lunch tin. These have been a big hit. I have two in my stamp room I hope to complete over the next day or so and I’m going to donate them to our Support the Troops fundraiser on Sunday.

I have not learned how to show a word that you click on then it takes you to the link. Like I said my computer nerd is in Afghanistan. If anyone out there would like to tell me how, please send an email to askloentrup@fuse.net. HELP!

BB Riverboats Supporting OUR TROOPS

From the same post on our Yahoo Group another fellow Demonstrator Julie Doumont, drum roll....stepped up to the plate. On July 15 we will set sail on BB Riverboat for a fundraiser. We need donations and Julie gave me all the stuff pictured above. We still have room for more of you to join us or you can simply send a donation.

What great friends I have met through Stampin' Up! I have others that are donating and I will recognize each of them also.

Cards for The Troops

How cool is this! I posted a call for cards/card fronts to send to my son and his fellow Guardsman serving our country in Afghanistan. They don't have a Hallmark close so I'm sending them our handmade cards to send back to their loved ones. Well low and behold I get an email from a Fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator that I have never met. Today she came to my door with these beautiful cards with envelopes to send. I'm so appreciative of this gesture. When I sent her my address and directions she knew someone that lived on the main street that runs through my subdivision. Her brother and sister-in-law (I hope I got that right) live at the top of my street. Now you know "HOW COOL IS THIS?" Christina thank you very much. The cards and your kindness are greatly appreciated.

This is the Stampin' Up! "Statement of the heart" to love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments....in this we make a difference! Today Christina took this to heart.

Birthday Motifs

Kept this one simple I'm trying to stamp before the kids all get up and going. I'm getting up a 6 and getting what I can get done before Brandon(2)is with me at 7:30 or so. Got my hot tea and toast, came down started the laundry and started stamping. This is what I came up with. Quick and simple cut enough for my Open House and then discovered that the SQUARE METAL TAGS are discontinued. Well, I will certainly uses them all up. Not gonna change it now! I'm into the BLING with the new Rhinestone Brads, I love them!

Recipe:

Stamp sets: Baroque Motifs and Hugs & Wishes
Inks: Really Rust craft & Soft Sky (new incolor)
Card Stock: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and Really Rust
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Rhinestone Brads, Dimensionals, Square Metal Tag
