Small Legal Pad Holder with Pockets

I have some cleaning to do today but, I just don't feel like it! I know many of you fellow stamper can relate.....I decided to upload what I have been working on. This was shown to us at an SU event hosted by Ann Lightner a few levels above me by a
talented lady named Karen Faber. Here is my tutorial hope you like it!!

Supplies:
12 x 12 Black Cardstock
Designer Series Paper
Small legal pad 5 x 8
Paper cutter with scoring blade or Scor-pal
Sticky Strip
Bone Folder
Crop-A-Dile
Corner Rounder
Embellishments: as desired
Jumbo Eyelets, Ribbon & Chip Board


1. Start with your 12 x 12 piece of Cardstock and score at 3-1/2" from one end.


2. Turn your Cardstock 90 degrees, and score at 1/2" and 5-7/8" from each side. This will give an approximate 1/4" spine. (you are scoring on both left and right sides (4) scores in all {1/2" & 5-7/8" from each end}

(If you prefer a thicker spine, decrease the second score dimension. If you decrease to 5-3/4" this will produce a 1/2" spine.


Be sure to measure the thickness of your legal pad at the top thickest part. Also consider what you may be putting in the pocket.)








Note: when using Scor-pal to score for the 5-7/8" I move my paper to the right 1/4" and score at 6" then I flip the cardstock and do it again. LOVE my Scor-pal...


3. Use your bone folder on all score lines. This is important to give you crisp clean lines.







4. Hold Cardstock so that 3 1/2" scoreline is horizontal and towards the bottom and the other 4 score lines are vertical. Cut on score lines on bottom end of spine see picture. Cut away the section increase the width by 1/8" on each side. This will make sure the total cut out section width be 3-1/2" high by 1/2" wide. (If you have increased the spine size, this will increase to 3/4".)










5. Use round corner punch to round the corner of the piece that will create you pockets. Just looks better. I like to use the retired SU punch I like the larger curve. Either one will do the job.




6. If you are planning to stamp on the over now is the time to do it. I prefer to decorate as you can see in all the samples that I have posted.

7. Using STICKY STRIP apply to the inside of sections A and adhere. Apply STICK STRIP to sections C to the inside front, adhere. NOTE: use bone folder to achieve the crisp folds.
























When decorating don't forget to add a piece of Designer Series Paper to the top of the note pad. In this photo I placed a piece of white paper so that you can see step #5 where the corner rounder was used.

I'VE CAUGHT THE RUB-ON FEVER!

I picked up some expandable folders to help keep my stamping projects and information organized. While playing I had a light bulb moment, I have all these Rub-Ons....Could I put them on the flap and make them PRETTY?
YES, so I dove right in, I added a few pictures to show how easy it is.

I found it better for me to cut out the design that I was going to uses.
Play with the your piece or pieces and arrange them until you get the look you want. With the wooden stick start RUBBING then pull off excess paper. VOILA!

Now, it is very pretty as is but, I had been playing with my Fusion Flowers and I could not hold back.....had to add some just to finish it off!

I used the paper piercing tool to make a hole after I decided where I wanted to place the flowers.







As you can see I added the Rhinestone Brad and inserted it into the paper pierced hole.







WOW! look how cool this is! Now you need to go and make one or just get creative with what you have!!!

March Monthly Card Kit

Good morning…this had been a wild ride here in Northern Kentucky we got about 15” of snow. I'll post some pictures of it. I have not seen my husband since Friday morning. He is keeping the runways clear at the CVG Airport.

Back to stamping’ this month’s featured stamper is Jackie Bolhuis and she has designed the March Card Kit Cards. This is one of my favorite stamp sets from the New Catalog.

I did make a few changes to the sample card and you can make changes to them too. One of my friends (Hi, Karen) used one of the card kits to make a birthday card that she needed the cardstock was pre-cut it was a snap. These card kits are the best you can use different stamp sets and add different embellishments and make them your own. They have helped me out in a pinch as have the Sketch Challenges Beate has every week.

TUTORIAL


1. Fold the Kraft paper in half using the bone folder then stamped randomly with VersaMark just to add some background.





2. Using the Paper Piercing tools go around the Wild Wasabi cardstock after adhering piece of Groovy Guava Designer Paper to it.


3. Added the awesome Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and then Dimensionals to the back to give depth.


4. Adhere it to the Kraft card stock as seen in photo.





5. On the Whisper White piece of card stock using the small Swirl stamp and Wild Wasabi Classic Ink stamp three times then with the small Flower using Groovy Guava Classic Ink stamp random flowers.
6. Ink up the large Flower with Purely Pomegranate Classic Ink and stamp 3 times; cut out with paper snips add dimentionals and place on stamped image.


7. Using the 2-Way Glue Pen
trace the flower images then add Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.



8.On Whisper White card stock stamp SO KIND in Purely Pomegranate Classic Ink, punch it out using the Key Tag Punch, with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink sponge around the edges then adhere to card just under corner of Purely Pomegranate.



9. Close up of the Flowers with Dazzling Diamond Glitter.

Paper Towel and Toilet Paper Holder Core Tutorial

Supplies:

Paper Towel or Toilet Paper Core
Hobby Blade
Designer Paper
Basic Black and Only Orange Card Stock
Adhesives Glue and Mono
Cutter
1/2" Circle Punch
1/16" Hand Held Punch
Brads
Cello Bags
Grosgrain Ribbon

Instructions
1. Cut Core at 2" with Hobby Blade
2. Cut Designer Paper in 2" strips the length will depend on the diameter for your core.
3. Cut 1/2" strips of Basic Black and/or Only Orange for you handle and upper rim.
4. Punch out your base with your Mega Scallop punch and then I used the Culuzzle Cutting System for the Circle. One will be Basic Black and one Only Orange. Adhere them together.

5. Now wrap your core, put adhesive of choice on the Designer Paper and position around outer core then do the same on the inner core.









6. Take one of the 1/2" strips and position it around the top of the core.
7. Take the opposite color of 1/2" strip and attach to the core. (see photo) Hold secure with a brad. Use the 1/16" hand held punch.










8. Now your ready to adhere to the base. Put glue around the bottom of the core and attache to base.
9. I cut 3/4" strips of Designer Paper and wrapped it around the Hershey's Nuggets.




I used the sheet of sayings from the Designer Paper to make tags to attach to my basket after I filled and put them in Cello Bags. There you have it!

Batty for YOU Basket Tutorial

1. Cut your card stock 5 x 5 inches. Score each end at 1.5 inches


2. Cut on the score lines on the two top scores and the bottom scores lines. (see photo)

3. Cut your designer paper 2 x 1.5 and adhere to each center piece.

4. I used my scallop scissors to create a scallop edge, you can use your corner rounder with the guide off.

5. If you do the scallop, trim down the inside flaps so that they don't show through when you put the box together.

6. Now put the box together.

7. Add the large eyelets on two sides of your basket with your Crop-a-dile.


8. Add ribbon or card stock for your handle, decorate to your taste.

9. Assemble your peppermint patties with the decorated Circle Scallops and add 3 to your basket.
